IBM Premier Business Partner, Bridge Solutions Group, has worked closely with IBM on delivering reduced shipping costs, improved labor efficiency, and international shipment flexibility in this release.
FORT LEE, NJ – (April 30, 2015) – The next phase of the active IBM Sterling Warehouse Management system roadmap is now available. Key drivers behind IBM Sterling Warehouse Management System 9.4 (WMS 9.4) include:
1. Reduction in shipping costs
Enhancement of the containerization algorithm reduces packaging costs by minimizing underfills and provides more advanced functionality by introducing item packaging attributes, including Height constraints, Stackability, and Deformability.
2. Increased warehouse associate efficiency
The enhanced task consolidation in WMS 9.4 reduces the number of picks during Replenishment, thereby increasing efficiency. The Putaway Task Suggestion has also been optimized, and now includes Target Zone in the criteria used to determine suggestions.
3. Increased international shipment flexibility
WMS 9.4 includes export adherence rules that enable capture of the ITN# based on the destination country, to ensure adherence to export regulations.
“The release of 9.4 provides key capabilities to deliver on our promise to the existing Sterling customers” stated Doug Brochu CEO of Bridge Solutions Group. “And we will continue to enhance the WMS functionality to support existing and new customers, in the Retail, Manufacturing, and 3PL industries.”
